Cipriani Beverly Hills
There’s a new NYC-based chain restaurant in town, and it’s inexplicably one of the toughest reservations to book in the city. Wait times for a table at Cipriani are currently measured in weeks, which is surprising, considering a meal at this upscale Italian spot in Beverly Hills (with sibling locations in places like Dubai and Vegas) is akin to having dinner at the ground-floor restaurant of a Nordstrom. The oversized dining room has the energy of an accounting luncheon, cocktails come pre-batched, and the entire menu is geared towards the most child-like eater you know. Even their signature dishes like the beef carpaccio and tuna tartare are so bland, you’ll wonder if the kitchen misplaced the salt and pepper during the move to LA. If you’re still dying to go, come around 6pm and sit at the bar. You’ll get right in. That’s not a recommendation, but at least you can see for yourself why there’s no reason to wait for a reservation.
