Burgerhead
Normally, we wouldn’t condone splitting a chili-cheese dog. That’s a deeply personal experience that should remain between you and your creator. But at Burgerhead in the West Village, splitting the beef-covered dog is the move, because then you can get your own single Charburger—a 4oz patty, grilled on a charbroiler, and also split a vanilla milkshake that’s so creamy, it’s a perfect dip for your tallow-fried fries. This place is in the old Balkan Streat spot, and it’s from the same owners. We miss their ćevapi, but Burgerhead is a worthy follow-up, with several little tables that are good for a quick lunch or late bite (they’re open until 1am on weekends). Head here when you’re in the area and want something a little more substantial—and less smashed—than the burgers at Hamburger America or Smashed.
