If you're looking for a neat and tidy theme to sum up the year’s new restaurants, there isn't one—and that's a good thing. Our favorite new spots of 2023 bucked generic dining trends and instead created some of the most incomparable restaurants Miami's seen in years. That's why—if you put us in a time machine and set it back exactly one year—we could convince literally no one that Miami will one day have a great restaurant called "Walrus Rodeo."
Even the restaurants that technically weren't new at all somehow took us by surprise. A couple we thought were gone for good came back into our lives like a telenovela love interest who faked their own death. And we are so thankful for all the twists and turns, because even though we never saw any of these places coming, now we can't imagine Miami without them.
