The Best Brunches In Notting Hill
Home to some of London’s prettiest pastel houses and more cobbled streets than tourists looking for The Notting Hill Bookshop, this area of west London is excellent for brunch spots when you want to pretend every day is a Sunday. There may be a time limit on the table and you’ll probably have to queue for at least 10 minutes, but you’ll definitely eat something really great, whether a juicy chicken burger at 11am, or a spicy take on classic hollandaise. These are the best brunches in Notting Hill.

THE SPOTS

Akub is a charming Palestinian restaurant where brunch is the most important meal of the day. Mornings at this tucked-away spot are wholesome, as stone-clad walls and olive trees transport you to a courtyard in the Mediterranean. Brunch here is all about getting a spread: creamy labaneh sprinkled with aromatic za’atar, qalayet bandora (eggs in a rich, slow-cooked tomato sauce), and nutty cauliflower fritters that come with tangy coriander tahini. Get the bread basket too, and start dipping and scooping until all the plates are clean, or you’re too full for another bite of fava bean foul.
We always say we’ll stop standing in queues for eggs, but when we find somewhere like Tab x Tab, we’ll happily swallow our words. This small spot on Westbourne Grove has got some exciting brunch dishes. Halloumi sandos with the perfect balance of gooey centre to crispy edges, chicken thigh burgers that are tender and slightly spicy, and silky smooth oat milk lattes. The food is excellent and that pesky queue moves faster than you think. On a sunny day, the tables out front are a great place to be. Although if you’re after a solo morning, the window stools are ideal for sitting with a book.

There’s always a little crowd outside this bright cafe on Westbourne Grove, waiting for the all-important text message to tell them their table is ready. They’re all here for the same reason: the excellent all-day brunch. Things like parmesan-heavy, creamy mushroom toast work just as well for an early lunch as they do breakfast, but the best thing on the menu is the Beam benedict. A breakfast muffin is topped with a spiced lamb patty, two deep-fried, crispy poached eggs, and harissa hollandaise sauce that you’ll lick clean off the plate. The exposed brick walls and spacious room—split by a pastry and coffee bar in the middle—make this perfect for anything from a coffee date to a big family brunch.

A popular New York import, this all-day cafe and restaurant in Notting Hill serves brunch until a hangover-friendly 5pm. Sunday In Brooklyn is rightly popular for its stack of pancakes so thick and fluffy that, if you opt for the XXL triple-tier stack, it could pass off as a respectably OTT birthday cake. So stick to the single stack if you’re ordering other things. As well as some rich shakshuka and cheesy egg brioche buns, they’ve got salads on their brunch menu. But really, you’re here for the butter-heavy eggs and those attractive hazelnut maple praline pancakes. It’s worth knowing single pancakes are available on the dinner menu if you get out of bed really late.
