Backbar in Union Square is a cocktail bar for people who want fancy cocktails with ingredients most people can’t pronounce, but want them in a bar that you won’t feel out of place in if you’re not dressed like a banker on casual Friday. This is a cool, comfortable place with paintings of giant octopuses on the wall and Star Wars memorabilia lying around. If you’re hungry, they have a small menu of bites that’s generally excellent thanks to the fact that it comes from nearby Field & Vine.
